BBQ - Why not host a school fundraising barbeque for the local community? This could be done in the schools grounds or at a local park. Promote the event in the local media, you could also write home to parents and associates of the school and invite them along. There are lots of ways to make money from a BBQ - the most obvious is to charge for food. On top of this you could also run a raffle or even host an auction! Don't forget to leave fundraising buckets around the event and encourage people to donate.

School Production - Hold a school drama production at the local community centre and charge an admission fee. The key to this fundraiser is promotion - the more that know about the event, the more money you will make for your school. The first stage of promotion is to write to parents and teachers at the school. The second stage is to promote in the local area. You could also speak to the local press to see if they will cover the event. Don't forget to include all the details including, where and when the production will be and the reason behind the fundraiser. Not only can you make money from the sales of tickets but you could also sell drinks and food at the event to make even more cash for your school.

Weekend jumble sale - Host a weekend jumble sale at your school. This is a great way for the school to connect with the community and, at the same time, raise lots of much needed cash. A jumble sale requires lots of pre-planning and organisation to ensure it's a success.

The first step is to get as many donated items as possible, this can be done in a variety of ways. Firstly, write letters to parents asking them each to donate an item to the jumble sale, you could also approach local businesses to see if they will donate items in return for free advertisement at the event. The second option is to purchase items and sell them at a profit, this is a risky route but should be consider if you are low on items.

The next step is getting people through the door. The more visitors you have the more money you will make so ensure you advertise the event comprehensively.

There are a number of ways you can make money from a jumble sale, apart from the obvious sale of items you can also raise money by hosting a number of raffles during the day or even sell hot and cold drinks and food.
