Schools need to raise money from time to time to assist their budget. This is especially true if they are having a special event, like an excursion or even a school camp. Your school might need special equipment and need to raise money to pay for this. Whatever the case, school fundraising is a great way to help bring in some extra cash and let you reach your goal.

Ensuring the success of your school fundraiser can be helped by getting the kids involved as much as possible. Make it fun for them and you will almost undoubtedly fulfil your expectations and more. A way to do this is by having a fundraiser that is creative. One such idea is getting the school children to design their own artwork which can be then sold to the public. This can put the fun in fundraising!

The school kids will put a lot of time and pride into the artwork, knowing it is going to be sold and knowing that it will help the school with their fundraising efforts. The students can do a range of artwork such as paintings, pottery or even embroidery work depending on their level. It will help their self confidence and increase their creativity and passion for artwork.

With christmas just around the corner, you might want to get your school children to focus on christmassy stuff. Christmas cards, picture frames with holly, and even ginger bread men and other baked items are great choices. The other great thing about getting the kids to make the artwork themselves is that people will be more inclined to buy them. Knowing that it's going to a good cause and that young children have worked hard on the artwork will give people more incentive to pay for these items, and help you maximise your fundraiser earnings.

Some other great school fundraising ideas for making artwork include designs on mugs, pens, key chains, magnets, notepads and even mousepads. These can all be bought cheaply from stationary providers as blank items and then the kids can but their own designs on them to personalise them and make them special. For fundraisers with large groups of school children, you should be able to buy the raw materials in bulk, thus saving you money.

You may be able to organise a deal with a shop to sell the artwork in, or you can have a special night at the school, where all the items are on display and can be purchased. You can invite not just the parents but all members of the community. The more the merrier, and the greater likelihood of optimal sales. It's worth having set prices for all the artwork, but you might also wish to hold an auction and sell off any other stuff that you might get donated.

Combining the art sale with another event is a great way to cross promote the two fundraiser ideas, and get the most out of your efforts. The key is the children though, so start with them, get them excited about the activity, and watch their creative juices flow!
