Oak bedroom sets are often the most alluring and attractive sets you can buy. In light or dark, oak looks stunning and is cool to touch without being too chilling. It warms well in sunlight and almost appears to retain the glow that sunlight imparts on it. Basically, oak is stunning.

Oak beds

Oak bedframes are often functionally designed, and can be ornate, contemporary, and austere or antiqued without much effort. Often oak makes great sleigh beds, and finding matching sets can be as easy as purchasing a unique, one off bedroom set from a reputable company. Otherwise you can mix and match – oak is a wood that doesn’t matter if the woods match exactly – and can be light, dark or a mix of both. Unlike mahogany which varies in colour between trees and tree types, oak mixes well over ages and furniture sets.

Finding your perfect oak furniture

While it’s true that you should ensure that your furniture matches, shabby chic gives a lot of licence to mix and match your furniture, and in bedroom sets you can often go wild. If you find a lovely piece of older furniture, you can sand it down, lightly and renew whatever coating it has (varnish, wax, and paint) and often it will fit in with your other oak furniture with ease. Once you’ve started with oak, you’ll often never look at other wooden furniture, as its interesting features create an amazing contrast against opulent fabrics or contemporary details.

Oak bedside tables

Oak bedside tables can be simple, or ornate – but in most cases, the simpler, the better. A one drawer unit can make sure that your bedroom space, specifically beside your bedside is protected and kept clear of clutter, which is highly conducive to sleep. Dresser tables should have the minimum of items on it – a light, a book or magazine, your phone (if you charge it in your room). If you have other storage space for other items, you’ll definitely find that your bedside table is used for the essentials, and won’t need to rake to look for your products.

Oak dressers

Oak dressers are often overlooked – simply because the focus on the bedroom is the bed, or wardrobe or other large items, but dressers can be the centrepiece of your room with ease. Choosing a dresser, like any other piece of furniture depends on your space, and what your other furniture looks like. You can then scour flea markets, antique shops, charity shops, and other places if you’re on a tight budget or look online if you’ve got a dedicated furniture budget. Finding a reclaimed or antique look piece can often tie a room together more than an absolutely matching piece of furniture and can make for a comfortable, amazing space to get ready at.
