Losing weight is indeed a great challenge. An individual must have a regular exercise and proper diet perfectly effective for the individual. Ways on losing weight is subjective. Thus, effectivity varies from person to person. Exercising is very effective in losing weight because it increases the body's metabolism. Nowadays, with the innovation of the medical community, there are supplements formulated to boost metabolism as a way of helping burn unwanted body fats. One of these supplements is the Yohimbe.

This chemical compound can be extracted from the bark of trees of Pausinystalia yohimbe and Corynanthe yohimbe. Scientists reveal that this bark extract has a similar effect of diet or slimming pills on fat metabolism. This supplement is thought to enhance metabolism of fats most especially during exercise. Since this substance particularly improves fat loss, it is often referred to as a lipolytic agent. "Lipo" means fat and "lytic" denotes dissolving or removal. Lipolysis is the cellular activity in which fat is drawn out from cells and entered into the bloodstream as free fatty acids.

Yohimbe has an alpha - 2 receptor site antagonist effect. It enhances sympathetic activity in both the central and peripheral nervous systems to stimulate lipolysis. Studies demonstrate that yohimbe extract does not necessarily increase the heart rate and blood pressure or cause side effects. It just boosts lipolysis by drawing fat deposits from cells. This is an alternate biochemical pathway for lipolysis. This allows more fats to be readily utilized for energy production during and after an exercise. Experiments also reveal that Yohimbe has a synergistic effect with beta - receptor site agonist which includes coffee and tea. These substances accelerate loss of unnecessary fats while undergoing regular training or exercise and strict caloric intake. Higher rate of lipolysis results to a greater fat metabolism thus promoting weight loss. Yohimbe is also thought to enhance the levels of exercise - induced free fatty acids and norepinephrine production.

One main advantage of yohimbe as a lipolytic agent is that it has the capacity to lyse fats situated on the hips and thighs. These parts of the body has minimal beta - receptor site thus reacts poorly to catecholamine levels produced by exercise and beta - receptor site stimulants. On the other hand, the hips and thighs hold abundant number of alpha - receptor sites. Once yohimbe is taken it will bind into alpha - receptor sites and thus lipolysis is stimulated. Yohimbe supplementation has been proved to increase fat loss during exercise than those who are not taking such supplement.

Research affirms that the lipolytic effect of yohimbe can be markedly experienced during the first hour of intake. But experts say that this is not of worry because approximately one hour is all one need to improve the fat metabolism effect of exercise. Its result on the sympathetic activity may persist up to 4 hours or more. These lipolytic benefits of yohimbe can be fully maximized if taken together with methylxanthines like coffee.

Yohimbe has no undesirable effects to its users. There have been no reports of any harmful effects. However, experts still advice that those who are planning this weight loss extract, your being smart must outweigh your being desperate on losing weight.

Metabolism boosting vitamins can help one speed up metabolism and improve fat loss. You can find these and other great vitamins at your local or internet vitamin store.
