The phrase 'live each day like it's your last' is a completely terrible one. If the whole world did as such, then all economy, industry, health care, police services and pretty much anything in the world would grind to a halt. Everyone would be too busy weeping all day, spending time with family or friends, and possibly spending all their money on things like Christmas presents.
Gifts for men could be things like Ferraris, though only if people had enough money. Which mostly they would not. In fact for some people, they can work their whole lives without earning enough to pay for a Ferrari. Whereas for some people, they can easily drop a million here or there and buy what they want. Gifts for girls could be diamond rings, with exactly the same theory as above.
I say as above, but that is based on assumption that you are reading this in a normal format. Some countries to not read the same way that English speaking countries do, because their language is different, and therefore they may read from right to left, or vertically top to bottom in one line, and then back to the top again.
Back to the phrase, it is clearly meant to signify someone living each day to it's fullest, which is a more sensible phrase. Moreover, a very good one. All people should do what is in their power to not be lazy, and try to aim high - that is the assumption of that phrase. But again, it may not be good for everyone. Some people's goals may be doing nothing but sleeping all day, and if it doesn't hurt anyone, then why not?
