If you're a gold or silver trader pressed for time, take a look at the upgraded FizTrade online-trading system for precious metals, unveiled by Dillon Gage Inc. this month. The new system has more information on a single screen, making trading easier, especially because users don't have to keep traveling between pages. Launched in 2006, FizTrade is used by banks, jewelers, coin dealers, refiners and pawn shops to buy and sell gold, silver, platinum and palladium bars and coins.
"Our FizTrade site has always been fast, with metals prices that update automatically every 20 seconds," says Terry Hanlon, president of Dillon Gage Metals. "In our new, upgraded system, however, our data displays are easier to read and use."

Customers, for instance, can see buy and sell prices for particular metals products on one page. Through the system, they can quickly calculate spreads and conduct multiple transactions at once. For convenience, bid prices have been added to spot-price displays.

In one enhancement, gray shading with reference pricing is used to signify when a particular item isn't available on FizTrade. Those items are flagged with "NA" in the relevant quantity box.

"Price charts have been enlarged so they are easier to read in the new FizTrade format," Hanlon said. "And as part of our online upgrade, we're also updating our popular how-to trading videos."

Hanlon says FizTrade was designed to help traders minimize market exposure and increase profits. FizTrade users can see spot quotes and bid and ask prices for hundreds of products on their screens. They can lock in transactions and advise where they want products shipped.

For bullion items, FizTrade's bids and asks depend on Dillon Gage's spot price at the time of the order. Dillon Gage spot prices are based on the most actively traded futures-contract month. Spot prices change continuously—often from second to second. Numismatic values are based on current market conditions.

A Specials Page, updated daily on FizTrade, highlights Dillon Gage's bullion specials and numismatic specials. If you have a few minutes, take a look at the system's recent enhancements and more at www.FizTrade.com.
All first-time, FizTrade customers are asked to fill out a general Dillon Gage application, which can be found by logging onto DillonGage.com and accessing the Bullion Trading page or by emailing trading@dillongage.com. Dillon Gage assigns account numbers to new customers, with no opening fees.

"With FizTrade, the price you see is the price you pay or receive, depending on whether you're buying or selling," Hanlon says. "There are no additional fees or commissions for coins and bars." On a typical order, the only additional fee is the shipping charge. Immediate confirmation is provided on real-time orders, which are processed by Dillon Gage traders. All buy or sell orders should total $5,000 or more.

As with any commodity or stock transaction, orders are legally binding by both parties at the time of confirmation, and customers can be confident that their orders have been handled properly.
