Having a small business is tough. Not only are you trying to establish yourself in business, but you have to compete with companies that are usually a lot bigger than you are. And with new legislation requiring all employers to provide some kind of health insurance benefits to employees, it is getting harder and harder to keep the average small business afloat. Regardless of where you're located, even if you're in Denver or Boulder, finding a Colorado small group health insurance plan can give your employees the coverage they need at a price you can all afford.
Sitting down with your health insurance professional to determine which package or packages are going to suit you and your company best is in order. Here is a list of great options available that packages have to offer your employees:
1) Reasonable monthly premiums. It doesn't do any good to have a health package if the employee can't afford the monthly premiums offered by the company. Employees have other expenses to cover like food and rent and health insurance has to come well after those on the priority list
2) Reasonable deductibles. Regardless of how low or how high the monthly premium is, if an employee can't afford to pay for the deductible amount on his health insurance, then again, it doesn't do much good to have it
3) Having the doctors they need in-network. This means having pediatricians, general practitioners, and etc. all as a part of the insurance package. Having to go outside the insurance coverage network basically defeats the purpose.
4) Reasonable family coverage costs. As above, employees have to cover daily living expenses and having to pay out too much for coverage on spouses and children can prevent an employee from getting insurance at all. Not a good thing.
5) Reasonable secondary costs. Having a good drug plan and even coverage for optical and dental is essential to giving employees a good health insurance package. Regardless of what anyone may think, optical and dental is still a part of health care.
All in all, there are a lot of great plans available so you as a small business owner can offer your employees good health care protection at reasonable prices. Not only will you be able to meet and exceed the government requirements, but you can offer your employees some thing they will truly appreciate. Good health coverage.
