The car sellers who sell used cars also give warranty. The condition of the car depends upon its maintenance by the owner and his driving habits. If the owner is himself a driver, then the car is expected to be good conditions, but if it is being driven by a driver, the condition will never be the same.
You can explore various options on the internet also and there are some books which provide complete details and price of the car. Most sellers also put a classified on the internet and newspapers. Before buying a vehicle, always carry a close check of the vehicle like odometer reading.
Take a professional help of a good car mechanic before buying a car. You must check the engine oil, it should be clean, and the transmission fluid, which should be pink in colour, if the colour is black just stay away from that car. See that air-conditioning of the car is in working.
See all the lights are working properly. These checks will save you from future expenses as some of the repairs are very expensive. If the lights are not working it does not mean that the car is good, do not go for computer readings, as these can be tempered, sometimes the computer does not record the reading as the car may be in idle position for long time.
Tires should be checked properly, ensure that 8-inch tread is still there, sometime people are known to fit winter snow tyres to their vehicles, make sure you check the tyres are correct for the road surface before you leave the showroom. See the sides and the corners of the car for any cracks.
Always test drive the car to see for the troubles if any, such as vibrations while braking, any pull in steering or slipping of transmission. If you feel something wrong, get another check done by a mechanic. It is really shocking and surprising that people do all these things after they buy the car.
If you feel that the car requires some repairs, ask for an estimate from a qualified mechanic, this will help you to negotiate a better price. Whenever you drive a used car, you have to be prepared for some extra repairs and you have to be ready to spend more.
